I am going to be applying for college soon and was considering places like southern California (not LA) and Arizona so I was wondering what San Diego State was like. Is it a good school? Nice campus?

It is a good school and the campus is pretty nice. SDSU is rather large, about 33,000 students. It is a mix of older and newer buildings. I graduated from there so I enjoyed it. There are many majors and minors to choose from. If you live on campus, there are several dorms and apartments to choose from. There is a trolley station so if you need to go downtown or a few other places you can get there easily. For professors, I would recommend checking with RateMyProfessors.com or talk to other students as I had many good professors and a few not so good ones when I was a student there. But all in all, SDSU is a nice place to go to school. SDSU offers many other nice things, too. The library is open till 1AM Sunday through Thursday, and there is a study room that is open 24/7. On campus, there are several dining options including a sit down dining hall, some fast food, a grill, and some convience stores where you can buy groceries. For recreation, SDSU offers a rec center, workout gym, handball and racquetball courts, tennis courts, sports fields, gymnasiums, swimming pools, a bowling alley / pool hall / arcade, bar, performing arts theaters, lunchtime concerts, and many other amenities.

My boyfriend goes to SDSU and I go to a private school in san diego which is a considerable amount more money each semester- that being said, many of SDSU's classrooms are nicer than those at my school, the teachers, for the most part, sound 'good', and the landscaping is nice. of course, you will find that any school with over 30,000 students will have quite a few lecture halls...some with up to as many as 700 students in a class. Some of the programs they offer there are top in the state, and although it was once deemed a top 10 party school, I think it may have dropped in numbers (and whether you see that as a good or bad thing is a matter of preference). Definitely a good school...I would have gone there if I didnt get into USD

I currently go to SDSU and really like it. As far as looks it has quite a few grassy areas and looks nice. Although some buildings are older than others I think it just adds to the atmosphere. Its pretty spread out though so it takes awhile to get from place to place. As far as academics it has a very large number of majors and minors etc. There are a lot of students though about 35,000 so if you don't mind that and some larger class then I would definitely recommend coming out and taking a campus tour. SDSU has a lot to offer.

It's a good school. I've been to the campus a few times, and it's pretty nice and well kept. There's a lot of grassy areas and it's really pretty. I don't really know much about it, so I won't be much of a help, sorry.
