back east or in the middle of the country, how bleak did you find the winters and was your experience completely ruined because of the bad weather?

lived in georgia for 11 years till i moved to Iowa. (went from a big town to a small town). I still can't stand the weather(it's often below freezing and snows alot) but it was fun to experience something i'd never expeirenced before. Espeacially within a small community, you learn about values

lived in tennesee and kentucky. i was about 6. but in the winter, it snowed an inch and we got a whole week off of school. my mom and dad (who lived in utah) were like 'only an inch of snow? for a snow day? it was pretty sweet.
