Nope it isn't. You're probably mixing it up with San Diego State because that's a party school. However, every university do have parties.

2
People who don't know the history will probably answer this question by saying that they are getting UCSD mixed up with SDSU. However, UCSD at one time was considered a party school but that was decades ago. UCSD is now known for its engineering and medical schools among others and its propensity to attract top students from California as well as all over the place.

3
UCSD's parties consists of asian girls who act white and if youre lucky you will run into the white girls all wearing forever 21 clothes. yeah they might have little parties consist of people at a townhouse.. nothing too wild.. and i swear you will hear at least 2 conversations about school or their professor.. but just like everyone else on here.. San Diego State is the Party school

Is San Diego good place to start for pop punk band ?

Is San Diego good place to start for pop punk band ?
I want to attend the University of San Diego and i have heard some good things about it. I have another year of school. I am really into music. I listen to Alternative Rock, Pop punk and i know bands like Blink 182,Unwritten Law, My American Heart all come from San Diego. I was thinking of Chicago but its very cold and i really hope to go back to the US , i am actually a German citizen living in Paris and it is more expensive than California and finishing school here.A british school. They said i could attend in the U.S. somewhere and i really want to move to san diego california. It's really beautiful. I am an above average type of person. Would it be a good place to start ?

You would probably have more luck in Hollywood or somewhere in LA because it would be easier to be "discovered." But it is possible, look at my american heart like you mentioned among several other bands.

2
it would be easier to break into the music scene in San Diego vs LA. There are so many students, so lots of student bars often with open mike nights and live bands playing. Also cool small venues like The Casbah, Belly Up in Solana Beach, etc where you can work your way up to playing.

I'll be honest with you...this is not a good time to be looking for a teaching job in California. We are in the middle of a huge budget crisis. Schools all over the state are being closed, and teachers are being laid off. Sorry.

University of California at San Diego Question!?

University of California at San Diego Question!?
I want so badly to get into UCSD[University of California in San Diego], specifically Scripps Institution of Oceanography. I want to be a marine biologist. I'm a freshman now, and I know that freshman grades don't really count at UCSD, only sophomore and junior grades. I go to a private school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and get good grades. I had only 2 B's last semester, but they were in Pre AP classes. I plan on taking all the AP classes I can the rest of my high school year. Here's my question: What classes would you recommend I take in order to get into UCSD and what grades? Also, do you think I still have a pretty good chance even though I don't live in California? I'm planning on taking two science classes a year

Different Universities have different requirement. the one that you like is science, i suggest, get a science course and study hard. Get As. Don't get B. It's disqualifying. Hope this will help you. PS: if you are non californian resident, expensive. I tried at UC Berkley, $70,000 for foreigners and non californian resident

What are high schools like in California?

What are high schools like in California?
Hi, I live in Sydney Australia and am in year ten and considering six months exchange next year in San Diego, California. Can anyone (preferably teens and students or their parents) tell me what the local high school/s are like, eg. when terms begin and end, whats the deal with cafeterias, etc? Just because I wont be going with an exchange program I'd be staying with family. Any details are appreciated, I'm curious! Thanks!

I went to Poway High School in california, in san diego county. The semester starts and ends the same time as any other school in the country, the exact day might be a little different but they all start sometime in september and end some time in late may/early july. From what I've seen there usually aren't cafeterias per se in high schools. they usually have lunch carts that you can buy overpriced crappy food from (at least that's how it was at my school and all the others in my district). The school's really aren't that great in California. I'd seriously consider going there to study if you really want to learn anything. If you're just going for the experience, well, you will definitely get to experience the superficial, shallow american lifestyle in California. But be prepared to not learn anything, I know I didn't learn a goddamned thing in high school, and I passed with a 3.2 average. Basically, those schools are designed so even the retarded kids can pass the same classes as everyone else (i.e. they dumb down all the class so the stupid kids can pass).

The Art Institute of California: San Diego...help!?

The Art Institute of California: San Diego...help!?
I am currently a junior in high school, and I already know that I am going to major in art at the art institute of california. I have only taken art for one year, and a foreign language for one year. Does anyone know if the college i want to go to requires two years of a foreign language? because i would rather focus on getting as many art classes as i can and get out of spanish. please help me, i have tried searching there website, and i havent actually found any info about that.

No, it does not require two years of language or any art. they don't require anything unless if you want to major in game art they require a portfolio i know that as a fact, i was very stuck on going to AI San Diego, and didn't listen to people who told me other wise until the very last minute, but i suggest you think a little about going to a two year and transferring.. California does has a great transfer system (automatic guarantee if you keep decent/good grades) and you make an art portfolio as you take art classes. (and it would look better on a resume than a propriety *for profit* school. do the best you can do for you, you still have time; your only in high school, and if money is not a problem aim bigger for a private school that is respected ( Otis college of design? ) i bet it may even cost less! if you have not already, collegeboard.com is a great website, they have a search engine that looks up schools for you, it's really fun and incredibly helpful. sorry if i burst your bubble, but i was going to be $130,000 in debt if i went! (that is cheap living included ) cheers to you if you don't have to take out loans, but alas, it will be your decision and good luck with what ever you do. i know the charm that school has A lot can happen form here and now! ( a recession happened to me!)

San Diego Teachers? Or anyone teaching in Southern California?

San Diego Teachers? Or anyone teaching in Southern California?
I'm curious to get some information about teaching in the San Diego area, or southern California in general. Are jobs hard to come by? What about as art or English teachers at a high school level, or teaching at an elementary level? How long were you in school for to obtain certification for teaching? In general, what you are thoughts and opinions on teaching?

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION? U of Colorado - Boulder or U of California - San Diego?

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION? U of Colorado - Boulder or U of California - San Diego?
Which school do you think has a better reputation on a national level? Or are they equal? Which is the better school?

Academically, UC San Diego has a somewhat stronger reputation, especially in the physical sciences. The University of Colorado is probably a little better socially, and it is a pretty good school, so it all depends on what you are looking for.

2
My brother went to CU-Boulder and loved it. He did it ALL there. Undergrad, Masters, and he received his Ph.d on March 13, 2006 in mechanical engineering.

3
Mostly equal, SDU is a nicer area/climate.

4
they are both good schoool, no doubt. though i am a huge CSU - Fort Collins fan and hate the CU buff's Colorado is a really good school. It has a good rep. for vets. So if you want to be a vet that is a good school to go to & alameda east (that ER vet place on animal planet a lot, is in colorado.. Plus Colroado is a GREAT state! not that california isn't, but i lived in CO most of my life, and i loved it. I dont know much about U of California but I here it's a great school. It's more of your opinion and what you want to do for a living and where you would rather live, Snowy Colorado or Sunny California.

5
although i am not familiar with university of colorado, i know that ucsd is an amazing school. it is a beautiful campus in a great location with alot of esteemed professors. it was my first choice for school but i did not get in and went to uc irvine instead. the main thing would be to think about what you are going to major in and choose the school that has the better reputation for that academic field. also, depending on which state you live in will determine how much your tuition is, if that is an issue for you. if you live in california, ucsd will cost you substantially less and vice versa for colorado.

6
Why go to Bolder when you can go to sunny San Diego? There is no place like San Diego. The place is such a blast. Wish I'd gone to undergrad there.

How much is a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign in San Diego, California?

How much is a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign in San Diego, California?
It was 3 in the morning. There was no one on the street so I just paused and then went. Wtf. I got a speeding ticket a month earlier for $500. How much is this one going to be?? Also it said Im not eligible for traffic school for my speeding ticket and it was the first ticket I ever got. :( So how much is the ticket going to be, and will I be able to get traffic school for THIS one. I dont even know how much my insurance is going to go up for my first ticket. Im still a student so I have no idea how Im going to pay for all this...

I'm from Massachusetts but it sure sounds like California is controlled by a bunch of dickheads! Maybe Aaaaarnold can help you!

2
Ca CVC 22450 - Failure to stop at a stop sign - $138 base fine + applicable gov fees and surcharges. For more serious violations, one is not eligible for traffic.

3
The courts website normally has the court fees on it. Call the courts and ask if you make take a class. Your insurance will only go up for 1 ticket if you take a class for the other ticket removal

4
To get a fine that high for speeding, you were going at least 26 mph over the speed limit. Traffic school is not generally offered automatically when speed is more than 25 mph over the limit, although the court can order it if you ask. However, you can certainly use traffic school to avoid the conviction on the stop sign charge. Although a court can order traffic school for two citations issued within 18 months, I doubt that this would be likely when they are this close together, so you would only get rid of one, anyway. I am afraid Ben is way off on the fine. The scheduled fine for violating Veh C 22450(a) is $146+65 for a total of $211. Your fine should be close to that. Traffic school can cost up to $50 more, plus the cost of the school.

If you're going to be too picky, then you're not going to find anywhere. Well, if it's only offered down south, then you have to be the one to make the decision whether you'd want to gvo there or not. Anyways, about finding out where it's at, I suggest you make an account at www.monster.com and try and find a fashion design school on there. Good Luck.

Academy of Art University is a very prestigious art school if you want to go into the clothing design field. San Francisco Art Institute is very famous too and my friend is in the fashion design field and she loves it. She just got a job designing for GAP.

University of California San Diego UCSD students?

University of California San Diego UCSD students?
I'm currently debating whether to attend Davis or Sd. I was just wondering, (I got accpeted into warren in pharmaceutical chemistry).. are the classes hard at sd? Is it super competitive? I heard that people study all the time. is that true? I would like to go to parties or formals once in a while, do they have that there? Is it hard to change majors? because I'm not sure about my major yet. Also, are there buses that go up to san francisco from san diego? because the airplane tickets to there are kinda expensive. Is there anything else you can tell me about the school, teachers, academics, etc...? what about the food .. are they good? thanks so much for your help. I have 2 more weeks to decide!

Hi there I agree... I go to this school and the more I stay here the more I am disappointed at first it sounded like the solution to all my problems i am enrolled in the bachelors program for medical specialties and will be shooting for x ray technician but they are letting me down more and more i am supposed to be done with all this in 3 years with a graduation date of may 25 2011... i took a cpr class and they havent gave us our cpr cards in 6months my boyfriend went on leave for the military and the deans and teachers had a copy of his orders and even though they knew that they disenrolled him from the school even though he was doing all his work online... also he was supposed to be making payments to the school but no payment letters have ever been sent to him so now his account is past due and deliquent by 700 dollars plus... my friend was trying to get a house and come to find out she had a strike on her credit because the school had applied for a loan in her name without her signature... she didnt get to get her house... they books are not available when you need them like they promised they put you in circles when youhave questions about certain things with the school and i have another friend who was alreaday done with everything and was justwaiting on a radiology class that they offer but wasnt availble which had him stuck for another year the librarian has no respect for anyone at the school and talks very rude to students including me i just hate it here now and i am getting more and more discouraged and i am looking into another school because my future and 64,000 is at stake yes the program i am in costs 64,000 its not like i am trying to be a doctor right lol this school is about the money not about the student
