I am currently a junior in high school, and I already know that I am going to major in art at the art institute of california. I have only taken art for one year, and a foreign language for one year. Does anyone know if the college i want to go to requires two years of a foreign language? because i would rather focus on getting as many art classes as i can and get out of spanish. please help me, i have tried searching there website, and i havent actually found any info about that.

No, it does not require two years of language or any art. they don't require anything unless if you want to major in game art they require a portfolio i know that as a fact, i was very stuck on going to AI San Diego, and didn't listen to people who told me other wise until the very last minute, but i suggest you think a little about going to a two year and transferring.. California does has a great transfer system (automatic guarantee if you keep decent/good grades) and you make an art portfolio as you take art classes. (and it would look better on a resume than a propriety *for profit* school. do the best you can do for you, you still have time; your only in high school, and if money is not a problem aim bigger for a private school that is respected ( Otis college of design? ) i bet it may even cost less! if you have not already, collegeboard.com is a great website, they have a search engine that looks up schools for you, it's really fun and incredibly helpful. sorry if i burst your bubble, but i was going to be $130,000 in debt if i went! (that is cheap living included ) cheers to you if you don't have to take out loans, but alas, it will be your decision and good luck with what ever you do. i know the charm that school has A lot can happen form here and now! ( a recession happened to me!)
